- I just got my upgrade chip from USR and used it to replace my 4/18/95
- chip on my "older" internal Sportster. It worked fine here in Beijing,
- China. I used to get 28800 connections all the time. With the new
- V.34+ chip, I was able to get 31200/33600 connections with both
- Courier V.Everything (1/23/96 code) and the "newer" 33600-capable
- Sportsters.
- Here's something interesting I've found so far:
- (1) As the first V.34+ flash code for the Courier, the Sportster V.34+
- code also added the LAPM SREJ protocol while the "newer" Sportsters
- don't support this feature at all.
- (2) The speaker volume of the internal Sportster is back to the louder
- 9/2/94 level. It had been very low since the 11/94 update. Now even at
- ATL0 the volume is as high as the previous ATL2.

- Yet another way is to issue the ATI11 command. It's no longer
- available in the "newer" Sportsters so you will get an "ERROR".
