  22. I just got my upgrade chip from USR and used it to replace my 4/18/95
  23. chip on my "older" internal Sportster. It worked fine here in Beijing,
  24. China. I used to get 28800 connections all the time. With the new
  25. V.34+ chip, I was able to get 31200/33600 connections with both
  26. Courier V.Everything (1/23/96 code) and the "newer" 33600-capable
  27. Sportsters. 
  28. Here's something interesting I've found so far: 
  29. (1) As the first V.34+ flash code for the Courier, the Sportster V.34+
  30. code also added the LAPM SREJ protocol while the "newer" Sportsters
  31. don't support this feature at all.
  32. (2) The speaker volume of the internal Sportster is back to the louder
  33. 9/2/94 level. It had been very low since the 11/94 update. Now even at
  34. ATL0 the volume is as high as the previous ATL2.
